Cookie statement
In short: this website places no cookies of its own and does not track you. Below you can read exactly how it works.
In short
This Viva67 website does not place any cookies itself and does not track you. We do not use analytics software, advertising pixels or any other technique to follow your browsing behaviour. That is why you do not see a cookie banner with us: there is nothing we need your consent for.
Still, some things do happen technically when you visit this site. The hosting provider processes your IP address and the chat opens in its own window. On this page we explain in plain language exactly what happens, why, and what you can set yourself. That way you know where you stand, also on your phone.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website can store on your computer, tablet or phone via your browser. On a next visit, the website can read those files again. This way a site can remember, for example, that you are logged in, which language you chose or what is in your shopping basket.
Cookies can also be used to track you. A website or an advertising company then keeps track of which pages you view, sometimes across several websites, to build a profile of you and show you targeted advertisements.
Besides cookies, there are techniques that do the same thing, such as storage in your browser (local storage), pixels in images and so-called fingerprinting. The same rules apply to all those techniques as to cookies. When we write "cookies" in this statement, we also mean those similar techniques.
Types of cookies
To understand why we do not ask for consent, it helps to know the types of cookies. Roughly, there are three.
Functional cookies
These cookies are needed to make a website work, for example to send a form or keep a login session. No consent is needed for these, because the site does not work properly without them.
Analytical cookies
With these cookies, a website measures how visitors use the site, for example how many people view a page. If such measurements have little or no impact on your privacy, consent is sometimes not needed. If the data is shared with other parties or used to build profiles, consent is required.
Tracking and advertising cookies
These cookies follow your behaviour, often across several websites, to tailor advertisements to your interests. Your prior consent is always needed for these. You must be able to refuse that consent just as easily as give it.
Which cookies does Viva67 use?
We do not place any cookies on this website. That applies to all three types above. Among other things, we do not use:
- Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or other analytics software;
- advertising pixels, such as the Meta Pixel or the LinkedIn Insight Tag;
- heatmaps or software that records your mouse movements and clicks;
- social media embeds that track you, such as embedded posts or share buttons from external parties.
The language menu at the top of the page works without cookies. If you choose another language, you simply go to another page. Nothing is stored in your browser.
The chat on this website
On every page you see a chat button. The chat window comes from our own CRM (viva67.vercel.app) and opens as a separate window within the page. The script that shows the chat button does not store anything in your browser itself.
Within the chat window, technically necessary data may be used to make the conversation work, for example so that a message ends up in the right conversation. We do not use that data to track you or to show you advertisements.
The chat is answered by an AI assistant. What happens to the messages you type in the chat and which parties help with that is explained in our privacy statement. How we use AI responsibly is described on the page Security and AI.
Fonts
The fonts of this website are stored on our own website. Your browser fetches them from there, just like the rest of the page. No connection is made to Google or any other external party for this, and no cookies are placed.
Many websites still load their fonts via Google Fonts. Google then receives your IP address on every visit. A German court ruled in 2022 that this violates the GDPR without consent. That is why we deliberately chose to keep the fonts on our own website.
Hosting of the website
This website is hosted by GitLab. On every visit, GitLab processes technical data, such as your IP address, the type of browser and the time of your visit. This is needed to show the pages and to protect the website against misuse, such as attacks that try to make the site unavailable. We do not place cookies for this and do not use this data to track you.
Links to other websites
Our pages sometimes contain links to other websites, for example to the Dutch Data Protection Authority or to explanations by a supplier. If you click such a link, you leave our website. The other website may place cookies. The cookie rules and privacy statement of that website apply. We have no influence on that.
Which rules apply?
In the Netherlands, the rules for cookies are set out in the Telecommunications Act (article 11.7a). In short, a website may only place cookies without consent if they are needed to make the site work, or if they have little or no impact on your privacy. For all other cookies, clear information and prior consent are required.
If personal data is processed with cookies, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) also applies. The Dutch Data Protection Authority supervises this. Because we do not place cookies, we do not need to ask for consent. We do think it is important to be open about what happens technically.
Managing cookies yourself
You decide which cookies are on your device. In your browser settings you can see which cookies are stored, delete them and block them from now on. This applies to all websites, not just ours. Explanations per browser can be found here:
On a phone, you usually find these settings in the settings of your browser app, under a heading such as "Privacy" or "Privacy and security". If you use another browser, such as Microsoft Edge or Opera, the explanation is on that browser's help pages.
Please note: if you block all cookies, some other websites work less well. You will not notice this on our website, because we do not use cookies.
Changes to this statement
If we do start using cookies that require consent in the future, for example to measure how visitors use the site, we will ask for that consent first. You will then get a clear choice, where refusing is just as easy as accepting. We will also update this statement, with the date of the change at the bottom of this page.
Frequently asked questions about cookies
Why don't I see a cookie banner?
Because we do not place cookies that require consent. A banner would only bother you.
Does Viva67 keep track of which pages I view?
No. We do not use analytics software or advertising pixels. Only our hosting provider processes technical data to show and secure the site.
What happens when I use the chat?
Your messages end up in our CRM, so that we can answer and follow up your question. Read the privacy statement for all the details.
Who can I contact with questions?
Us. Email info@viva67.com or call +31 858002423 on working days between 10:00 and 17:00. If you want to file a complaint about how an organisation handles your data, you can also contact the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
